Jr Professor Victoria Ingham
I studied Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford before undergoing an MSc and subsequent PhD in Systems Biology. During my PhD, I worked on integrating transcriptomic data to identify novel mechanisms involved in pyrethroid resistance. Following the end of my PhD in 2016, I started to work as a post-doc at LSTM and was awarded an MRC Fellowship in 2017 to integrate multiple -omics and molecular biology to continue my work on pyrethroid resistance. In 2021 I started a lab group at Heidelberg University Hospital with a fellowship from the German Centre for Infectious Disease Research. In my group we focus on the impacts of insecticide resistance and exposure on Plasmodium development, as well as the discovery of novel active ingredients and transmissibility of drug-resistant parasites and continue research on insecticide resistance. As of February, I am now a Junior Professor.
